Ease of Use
Ready for that nostalgic feel of the Polaroid camera? In a few easy taps, you will be able to customize your image with your choice of “old paper” combined with text and send it out in a snap. I say “old paper” because that is the descriptive term used by Polatax. I’d love it if they were a bit more creative with these names. They did a nice job naming their photo effects, and since the “old paper” is such a significant part of the Polaroid-style, it would do it some justice to have some interesting name choices. Browsing through old paper #1-12 seems to have a lack luster appeal to it. To me, the paper choices are all a bit too similar. Adding specific names, as well as more depth to the paper designs, would be a great update in the future.

After uploading an image from your camera roll (or shooting a live image), you can easily select a paper/frame style of your choice. Next, if you would like to add text to the bottom of your image, simply tap on the icon with the pencil that says “write”. You can choose from multiple font styles and colors. Adjusting the size and position of the text is easy. Adjust the slider bar to increase or decrease the size of your text. Positioning your text is as simple as it is on your word processor. Do this by selecting form the left margin, center, or right margin icons.

Clicking on the FX Editor will bring up a screen that looks like the one below. Being able to edit with the in app editor allows you to complete your editing process all in one app, if so desired.

By tapping on each selection, you can use an editing wheel to adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness. Simple and effective.

Your finished product will give you an image that is reminiscent of the Polaroid photographs of yesteryear.
