Dedicated PhotoCruncher readers already know by now that if there’s one thing we like, it’s unique photo apps. Colorize: Social Sketching & Coloring Book by Happiness Engines definitely fits that bill.
Here’s how Colorize for iPhone works. You start by taking a picture of anything you like. It can be a person, scenery, planes, trains, automobiles, anything. Colorize then turns your photo into a grey scale sketch image, allowing you to draw and add color to any image you’ve taken, but here’s the twist. Once you’ve shared your picture, your friends, or anyone using Colorize can then continue working on your photo, adding their flavor to it.
Saw an image you like, but feel that it would look better with a flying dragon in the background? Just draw one for it. Think of Colorize: Social Sketching as Doodling with friends.
The only criticism I have for this app is that it lacks game mechanics. In other words, if there was a goal, or game mechanics involved, the app could really take off. Maybe we’ll see that added to a future update?
